Mirzoev EB et al. 2015; The influence of hexacyanoferrate (II) potassium-ferric(III) as a radionuclide sorbent fed at different doses on clinical, hematological and physiological parameters in rats; Agric. Biol. 50(2):237-44

Study Design: Wistar rats received 0 mg/kg, 11.6 mg/kg, 23.2 mg/kg or 32.4 mg/kg  hexacyanoferrate (II) potassium-ferric (III) orally for 30 days to compare influence on several blood parameters, and to observe changes in clinical and physiological Parameters.

Results: Optimal dose causing lowest alterations was 11.6 mg/kg. Higher doses led to increased levels of globulin and decreased levels of albumin in the blood, but no differences in clinical haematological and physiological parameters were determined between control and treatment groups.

Conclusions: Assumably, observed changes can be the result of essential elements deficiency due to their sorption in the gastrointestinal tract by the active substance and a result of the intake of ferrum, in addition.
